Sholat merupakan salah satu dari lima rukun Islam sebagaimana yang telah disabdakan oleh Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam. Sholat juga merupakan kewajiban paling utama setelah tauhid. Apabila sholat seorang muslim baik maka seluruh amal perbuatannya akan baik, begitu pula sebaliknya, jika sholatnya rusak maka seluruh amal perbuatannya pun rusak.

Oleh karena itu sholat sangat membutuhkan perhatian serius, teristimewa yang harus diperhatikan.Al Imam Ahmad berkata, "Sesungguhnya kualitas keislaman seseorang adalah tergantung pada kualitas ibadah sholatnya. Kecintaan seseorang kepada Islam juga tergantung pada kecintaan dalam mengerjakan sholat.
